The Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is located in the northeast side of Nansha Information Technology Park. It includes two parts: the teaching building and the dormitory building. The entire project base area is about 36,000 square meters, and the total building area is about 25,000 square meters. At a cost of 180 million RMB, the institute is the first batch of construction projects settled in the Nansha Development Zone after the "Guangdong-Hong Kong Cooperation Framework Agreement" was signed. The construction was completed at the end of 2011.
